Accounting Operations Manager Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our business as an Accounting Operations Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and insurance principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics in line with prescribed targets
  • Prioritize and organize work according to business priorities
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of technical aspects of processes
  • Drive process improvements within teams for improved efficiency, client experience, or better risk controls
  • Periodically review process risks and ensure adequate controls are in place
  • Meet with stakeholders to discuss process-related challenges and opportunities
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to effectively resolve escalations
  • Lead projects/tasks end-to-end in coordination with onshore stakeholders

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Forecast and plan resource requirements
  • Manage resources efficiently through peaks and troughs in the business cycle
  • Ensure contingency planning is in place for critical resources

People Management/Development:

  • Set appropriate goals and expectations for teams and conduct regular progress reviews
  • Work closely with individuals and groom them to their full potential
  • Assess and develop competency levels to ensure team members have the expertise needed to add value to the business
  • Proactively identify performance issues, create action plans, and coach team members to improve performance
  • Conduct 1-1 and team meetings in line with Operational Engagement Framework
  • Manage attrition and absenteeism in teams

Qualifications:

  • Any graduate/postgraduate degree

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills

Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of accounting and insurance principles (preferable)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a team leader managing a team of 15+ individuals
