
MICE Business Development Manager

The role of MICE Business Development Manager is to support and collaborate with the LLE team to create effective MICE proposals, adhering to operating standards.
Main Responsibilities:- Maintain MICE generating accounts through various business development activities (face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, site inspections, entertainment) in collaboration with Accounts Managers.
- Receive RFPs/Queries and follow MICE proposal templates to deliver timely responses. Follow direction from the Regional Team on brief details and client requirements.
- Meet annual sales, profit, and conversion targets alongside business leads.
- Share contacts of clients who can be potential clients for MICE business.
- Conduct comprehensive research for new and existing products that can be adapted for the MICE market.
- Research and compile new proposed packages and teambuilding options, working in conjunction with the respective team to develop great experiences for clients.
- Work towards procurement requirements by building a preferred list of MICE hotels, venues, DMCs, suppliers, and airline consolidators.
- Lead the creation of tour 'story' with guides to ensure new products are scripted correctly.
- Competitor analysis and benchmarking.
- Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of properties unique selling points, features, amenities, services, and policies.
- Daily update on 'things to do' and 'projects in hand' to the MICE head and branch head.
- Ensure new products and proposals are made accurately and within guidelines set by Team Lead.
- Work with CS team members throughout the group to update with new and adapted MICE products.
- Coordinate with purchasing/branch managers for correct data uploading.
- Manage templates and ensure correspondence with MICE department brand guidelines.
- Constantly work towards betterment of systems and templates for efficient team training and making great client proposals.
- Maintain and update lists of hotels, DMCs, vehicle service providers, airlines consolidators, tourism boards, and catering details related to MICE - as per company standards.
- Collaborate with local and destination operational teams to ensure clear operational plans as per itinerary promised to clients.
- Create guidelines, manuals, and scripts for all operational staff in support of MICE events.
- Monitor performance of hotels and suppliers in assigned destinations and report back to Regional MICE Manager on any actions needed.
- Remain composed under pressure situations and ensure deliverables are completed as promised by clients.
- Support the team by working with admin personnel on large events with logistics requirements (ticket bookings, visa issuance process, hotel bookings).
- Communicate final details of confirmed bookings to Sales Managers - MICE for contract preparation and obtain client approval on booking contracts promptly.
- Obtain client feedback after each event verbally and through 'Thank You' letters and 'Guest Questionnaires' and communicate outcomes to concerned parties.
- Follow up on issues from previous walkarounds to prevent repetition.
- Ensure all work during events is performed safely.
- Initiate client connections and build relationships with clients.
- Excellent negotiation skills with clients and partners.
- Creative ability to present MICE proposals differently to build excitement with clients. Proficiency in technology and Microsoft software applications is required.
- Minimum 10-12 years' experience in MICE within the industry.
- Personal and professional travel experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of hotel brands and destinations in the portfolio.
