Head of Modern Trade

The Head of Modern Trade will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth levers through strategic partnerships, channel innovation, and execution excellence.

  • Growth Strategy: The Head of Modern Trade will own and lead the modern trade growth agenda for the company across South India, focusing on core markets (Telangana, Andhra Pradesh) and emerging markets (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra). They will deliver plans for all milestones - monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Market Scanning: The incumbent will scan the market and be agile to capture opportunities across categories, banners, and marketplaces.
  • Analytics and Execution: They will analyze internal performance metrics and external market trends to identify and execute scalable growth opportunities. Collaboration with the marketing and category teams will drive region-specific initiatives that enhance visibility, velocity, and value in modern trade channels.
  • Business Partnering: Building and nurturing strategic relationships with key modern trade accounts, including national and regional chains, is essential.
  • Joint Business Planning: Co-creating joint business plans with trade partners aligns long-term growth, innovation, and execution priorities.
  • Process Streamlining: Working cross-functionally streamlines internal processes that enhance agility and customer responsiveness.
  • Execution Excellence: Leading the execution of modern trade strategies ensures alignment with brand and business goals.
  • Demand Forecasting: Driving accurate demand forecasting, stock planning, and supply chain coordination ensures availability and minimizes losses.
  • Sales Force Productivity: Monitoring and improving sales force productivity through data-driven reviews, process enhancements, and capability building is crucial.
  • Culture Building: Fostering a high-performance culture within the modern trade team is vital.
  • Talent Pipeline Development: Building a robust talent pipeline by identifying and developing future leaders at key levels is essential.
