About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our Kindle Ingestion and Expansion (KIX) team. As a key member of this team, you will provide technical support for our customers, ensuring they receive exceptional service and experience with our eBook distribution services.

Job Description:

The KIX team enables independent authors, content creators, and publishers to publish their content as eBooks for distribution to the Kindle Store, Kindle Unlimited, and the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. We work closely with production operations teams for software product release coordination and deployment.

As a Technical Support Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support for incoming tickets, including extensive troubleshooting tasks, covering multiple products, features, and services
  • Working on operations and maintenance-driven coding projects, primarily in shell scripts, web technologies, with the potential for Java-based projects
  • Software deployment support in staging and production environments
  • Developing tools to aid operations and maintenance
  • System and Support status reporting
  • Ownership of one or more Digital products or components
  • Customer notification and workflow coordination and follow-up to maintain service level agreements
  • Collaborating with the support team for handing-off or taking over active support issues and creating a team-specific knowledge base and skill set

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of software development or 2+ years of technical support experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Experience in Unix
  • Experience scripting in modern programming languages

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining hardware and software RAID
  • Experience with REST web services, XML, JSON

Benefits:

At myGwork, we offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on location and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Location:

This role can be based remotely, but some travel may be required. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.

Salary Estimate:

Based on industry standards and market research, we estimate the salary for this role to be around $95,000 per year.
