Job Overview

A Senior Kitchen Staff member oversees and participates in food preparation, ensuring quality and adhering to safety standards. They supervise junior staff, contribute to menu planning, and manage inventory.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure food is ready on time and in the correct order.
  • Maintain portion control and ensure dishes are presented attractively.
  • Assist in menu planning and development.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Manage the development and performance of kitchen staff.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Check stock levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Monitor food costs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work accurately.
