Job Title: Lead Culinary Team Member
This position plays a pivotal role in the culinary operations of our organization. As a Lead Culinary Team Member, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a workstation engaged in preparing and cooking food products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead workstation functions and assign duties to team members.
- Organize work schedules and control overtime of assigned sections.
- Ensure food items are prepared and presented according to corporate recipe standards.
- Train and monitor entry-level cooks and chefs for optimal service delivery.
- Conduct inventory of workstation storage and prepare daily requisitions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with galley personnel in a cooperative manner.
- Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, steam kettles, etc.
- Control, store, and dispose of over-production food items.
- Supervise and participate in cleaning workstations during and after meal preparation.
- Attend meetings, training activities, courses, and other work-related activities as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 4-6 years' experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service.
- Culinary school degree required.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
