Strategic Business Development Manager

This senior role is designed to oversee the development of commercial processes in India, specifically focusing on key accounts in the western and northern regions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Business Development India and the corporate Director for Sales & Client Management to establish client relationship strategies.
The main responsibilities include developing consultative sales processes for all services of the organization, focusing on regional needs and cooperating with productive areas to ensure revenue growth, increased client satisfaction, and timely payments from OEMs and Tier ones.
Key Responsibilities- Continuously develop preferred supplier status with commercial and technical teams at key accounts.
- Establish a network of trusted contacts within western and northern regions, understanding client requirements, promoting personal relations, building long-term relationships, and expanding products and markets.
- Ensure optimal payment terms to maintain regular cash flow for business units.
- Collaborate with the marketing team and BD head to define market strategies, Tech days, conferences for key accounts.
- Support the BD Head in target markets outside of India.
- Develop client strategies with global KAMs for multinational clients under responsibility.
- Provide business intelligence on client product development plans to inform marketing and product strategies meeting their needs and expanding offered services.
- Identify legislative changes impacting client product planning.
- Communicate findings to Productive Areas, establishing strategies to meet client needs.
- Collaborate with Productive Areas to establish sales policies (prices, schedules, terms, conditions...), elaborating and tracking quotations.
- Manage and monitor project progress with key clients.
- Pose alternatives or develop current products as necessary.
- Negotiate with clients, approving quotations together with Product Directors, Heads, and Account Managers.
- Manage and coordinate a multinational team, assigning objectives, tracking progress, and providing technical support when needed.
- Contribute to an organizational culture surpassing client expectations.
- Motivate and mentor a team of 1 account manager and Sales assistant to achieve job satisfaction and commitment.
- Identify and develop talent, guaranteeing training and development actions if needed.
- Evaluate and monitor team individuals' performance, differentiating contributions, and recognizing high performers.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field, along with minimum 10-15 years of experience in a similar position within the Indian automotive market and not less than 5 years managing a sales team.
Previous experience in engineering or high technical level services is also required, along with a deep understanding of local/client's and government business culture.
Candidates must be able to define marketing strategies.
