Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing, baking, and presenting high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and bakery items.
- Support the Chef de Partie in day-to-day pastry operations.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
- Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and minimize wastage.
- Assist in developing new dessert and pastry items for menus.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the pastry section.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie.
- Train and guide Commis Chefs in pastry preparation techniques.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, or related field.
- Minimum 23 years of experience in pastry & dessert section (hotel/restaurant/bakery).
- Knowledge of modern pastry trends, plated desserts, chocolate work, and bakery items.
- Strong eye for detail, creativity, and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
