Job Description

Fire Protection / Prevention

- Coordinate and manage fire fighting facilities and equipment.
- Schedule and execute functional testing, maintenance, and audits.
- Conduct reviews and implement improvements in fire protection systems.
- Prepare pre-fire plans and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain firefighting equipment in operable condition and manage inventory.

Documentation

- Compile and prepare monthly/quarterly safety audit reports.
- Maintain records for fire protection systems testing and inspection.
- Prepare and update safety manuals including MSDS, ER-DMP, contractor safety manuals, and emergency procedures.

Project Management

- Develop and implement contractor safety guidelines and project training plans.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
- Participate in HAZOP studies and accident investigations.
- Prepare implementation reports for submission to agencies.

Training

- Conduct training on fire safety, emergency response, evacuation, and rescue techniques.
- Train employees on use of firefighting equipment, first aid, and safety practices.

Workplace Safety

- Perform safety rounds and raise safety observations.
- Ensure proper Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is conducted and followed.
- Issue permits for high-risk activities and incorporate safety in contracts.

Incident & Accident Reporting

- Investigate near misses and incidents.
- Follow up on CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) implementations.

Safety Survey, Inspections & Audits

- Conduct safety surveys including noise monitoring and equipment inspections.
- Perform joint audits for LOTO, permit-to-work systems, and mock drills.

Meetings & Employee Engagement

- Organize and participate in safety committee meetings.
- Conduct fire safety awareness campaigns and safety recognition programs.

Reports & Record Management

- Prepare MIS and safety performance reports including DISHA, SRM, ORM, and training records.

Dupont Activities

- Implement global safety best practices.
- Participate in safety audits and DuPont methodologies like Safety Interaction and 5S.

Compliance & Budgeting

- Manage AMC contracts, billing, PR/PO tracking.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements using software like Legatrix.

Emergency Management

- Review emergency management plans.
- Conduct plant-wide mock drills and ensure compliance.

5S Methodology

- Implement all five 5S phases to maintain a safe and organized safety zone.

Coordination / Liaisoning

- Liaise with statutory authorities for licenses and compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors for certifications and regulatory checks.

Equipment Maintenance

- Oversee breakdown and preventive maintenance of firefighting and safety equipment.
- Handle maintenance workshop responsibilities.

Environmental Coordination

- Monitor air, noise, and water levels in coordination with the environment department.

System Implementation

- Implement additional PSM elements beyond the existing 14.
- Maintain ISO systems (ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015).
- Use My Safety software for incident reporting and safety tracking.

Education Requirements

- BE in Fire Engineering from a recognized institute (Regular)
- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) Regular
- Safety Auditor Certification from a recognized institute
