**Purpose Statement**
- Contribute towards achieving organisation's vision of "**Global Partner of Choice**" by assisting in evaluating new business opportunities and supporting their execution
- Enable the Business Development team to identify, assess and validate potential business opportunities by meeting their periodic and sporadic data analysis needs

**Key Role & Responsibilities**

**Industry and Market Analysis**
- Prepare periodic industry analysis reports based on secondary research, quarterly/annual results of key industry players, capex announcements and other news articles
- Conduct data analysis to uncover patterns in consumption including substitution threat to end products
- Track developments in various regional markets, including regulatory changes, that may have a bearing on the current and future growth plans of the industry
- Understand and articulate the impact of capacity additions/shutdowns, trade flows, competitor actions and exchange rate movements for the demand supply situation of key products
- Suggest new product or value chain ideas based on industry and market data analyzed
- Coordinate with data vendors and proactively add new sources of data to the company's knowledge repository

**Import Data Analysis and Business Case formulation**
- Analyze import data for various new products and value chains under consideration
- Support the BD manager in articulating business case for identified opportunities as per internal guidelines and templates
- Conduct sensitivity analysis on key assumptions in the business case
- Prepare presentations for top management and investment committee for seeking approvals on required investments
- Explore avenues to initiate new projects in the existing facilities and conduct cost-benefit analysis for the same
- Evaluate new value chain opportunities and support the team in formulating business cases for such opportunities

**Competitor Intelligence**
- Scan the market for new opportunities through secondary research and participation in industry conferences
- Conduct competion benchmarking by carrying out opex/capex analysis and comparison of duties and other regulatory incentives across customers or regions
- Conduct benchmarking of inputs including RM, electricity, land, manpower, etc. across geographical regions

**Documentation and Process Improvement**
- Ensure that all opportunities are duly captured and evaluated as per the opportunity capture process defined in the BD element
- Look for opportunities to improve and add to the core processes described in the BD element to make them more practical and suited to business needs
- Continuously work on standardizing repetitive aspects of the job to improve productivity and reliability
- Ensure that the documented SOPs (Standard operating procedures) for all knowledge management processes are adhered to
