Bookkeeping Assistant

Position Overview:
As a Bookkeeping Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health and decision-making of the organization by providing timely and reliable financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record Keeping and Data Entry:
- Maintain complete and accurate records of financial transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and payments.
- Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the information.
- Organize and file financial documents, such as invoices, receipts, bank statements, and payroll records, for easy retrieval and reference.
- Reconciliation and Analysis:
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy of balances.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in financial records by analyzing transaction details and making necessary adjustments.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for management review.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process accounts payable invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payment to vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor accounts receivable balances, send out customer invoices, and follow up on overdue payments to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Prepare aging reports and reconcile accounts receivable balances to identify and address overdue or delinquent accounts.
- Payroll Administration:
- Calculate and process employee payroll accurately and on time, including wages, taxes, and deductions.
- Maintain payroll records, including employee hours, salaries, and benefits information, in compliance with legal requirements.
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns and other statutory filings with regulatory authorities as required.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax laws.
- Assist with financial audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and supporting schedules as requested by auditors.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure adherence to relevant standards.
- Financial Analysis and Support:
- Assist in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities to support business decision-making and planning.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management based on analysis of financial data and trends.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and sales, to gather and analyze financial information for specific projects or initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Peachtree.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Certification as a Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or similar credential is a plus.
**Salary**: ₹8,111.55 - ₹28,367.00 per month
