Position Title : Head of Admissions & Outreach

Department : Admissions


Position Summary: The Head of Admissions is responsible for leading and managing the

admissions department, overseeing the recruitment, application, and enrollment processes.

This role ensures the development and implementation of strategies to attract, recruit, and

enroll a diverse and qualified student body in line with the institution’s goals and standards.

The Head of Admissions collaborates with other departments to support the institution's

mission and strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:

o Develop and implement a comprehensive admissions strategy aligned with

the institution’s goals.

o Lead and manage the admissions team, providing guidance, training, and

performance evaluation.

o Set and monitor admissions goals, ensuring they meet or exceed institutional

enrollment targets.

o Analyze market trends and demographic data to inform recruitment

strategies.


2. Recruitment and Outreach:

o Oversee the development and execution of recruitment campaigns, including

school visits, college fairs, and online outreach.

o Collaborate with the marketing department to create promotional materials

and digital content.

o Establish and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges,

and other feeder institutions.

o Organize and host campus tours, open houses, and other recruitment events.


3. Application and Enrollment Management:

o Supervise the application review process, ensuring adherence to admissions

criteria and policies.

o Develop and implement policies for evaluating and selecting applicants.

o Monitor and improve the applicant experience, from initial inquiry through to

enrollment.

o Ensure efficient processing of applications, including transcript evaluation,

interview coordination, and decision notifications.


4. Data Analysis and Reporting:

o Collect and analyze data on admissions metrics, including application volume,

yield rates, and demographic trends.

o Prepare and present regular reports on admissions statistics and progress

towards goals.

o Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and improve outcomes.


5. Collaboration and Communication:

o Work closely with academic departments, financial aid, student services, and

other stakeholders to support a seamless enrollment process.

o Serve as the primary spokesperson for the admissions office, representing the

institution to prospective students, families, and external partners.

Ensure clear and consistent communication of admissions policies and

procedures to all stakeholders.


6. Compliance and Ethics:

o Ensure that all admissions practices comply with institutional policies, state

and federal regulations, and ethical standards.

o Stay informed about changes in admissions regulations and best practices.


Qualifications:

 Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in education,

business administration, or a related field.

 Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in admissions or

enrollment management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

 Skills:

o Strong leadership and team management abilities.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

o Familiarity with CRM software and admissions systems.

o Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

o Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.


Working Conditions:

 The position require travel for recruitment events.

 Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed during peak admissions periods.
