Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining high sanitation standards in all food preparation area
- Responsible for the Maintenance and the cleanest of all F&B service and Kitchen Equipment
- Responsible for guiding the all subalterns staff and in the performance of their jobs in accordance to Hotel policies and procedures.
- Responsible for achieving financial goals, by minimizing costs without compromise in Hygienic condition.
- Responsible for implementing the Policies and Procedures in operating the Stewarding Department
- Responsible for ensuring sufficient operating equipment and cleaning supplies for the operation.
- Responsible for the administration, operation and coordination of the Stewarding Department in absence of the chief steward
- Responsible for providing functional assistance to operation during peak periods and functions.
- Responsible to keep F&B equipment inventory book up to date.
- Responsible to maintain all F&B area free of pest at all time
- Responsible for administration and the disposal of the waste
- Provides excellent Guest Service
- Ensures cleanliness of the operation and adherence to all State and Federal health codes.
- Manage daily operations of the Stewarding Department to ensure high quality service to the Food & Beverage division.
- Training of staff to execute all facets to standard.
- Manage daily administrative duties of Stewarding Department
- Schedule all banquet setup requirements according to order.
- Ordering of supplies & equipment when needed.
- Inventory of kitchen items as often as needed.
- Control usage of chemicals and cleaning solutions.
- Train on all MSDS sheets, update manuals.
- Maintain all Back of the House areas.
- All floors, walls and ceilings according to standard.
- Maintain all equipment.
- Setup and manage silver polishing schedule
- Maintain refuse area and cardboard compactor.
- Clean all matting as scheduled.
- Practice sanitation and safety according to accepted standard.
- Help plate up and service banquets.
- Stock and replenish buffet line
- Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Report for duty punctually, in the correct uniform, clean and neatly pressed with your name-tag clearly visible.
- Carry out duties as assigned, also refer to cleaning schedules and perform the necessary duties.
- Collect the appropriate cleaning materials and equipment from Stewarding Supervisor.
- Check equipment daily to ensure they are in good working condition and promptly report any defects/malfunctions to the Stewarding Supervisor or a senior person
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must me able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis. Work is performed in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky and dimly lit. Requires normal sense of smell, taste, touch, and sound.
