Mercer is seeking a candidate for the following position based in our Mumbai office:

Lead Specialist – InvestmentsOperational Risk

What is in it for you?Work with a team of first line risk professionals to support its growing footprint responsible for overseeing, monitoring, reporting and advising the business on in respect of the following areas:Errors and operating eventsThird party oversight governanceOperational resilience programsBusiness resilience programs

We will count on you to:Risk management:Provide hands-on support and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure key operational risks are resolved,Coordinate the proactive validation of procedures, third-party oversight governance, operational resilience, business relationship management (BRM), and other relevant controls to manage risk and facilitate continuous improvement within processes and controls,Monitor and ensure implementation of the controls outlined in Mercer's third-party oversight and due diligence policy, framework, and procedures,Monitor and support the controls outlined in Mercer's operational resilience frameworks and business resiliency management plans,Coordinate and proactively validate first-line monitoring and Quality Assurance (QA) within the business,Report periodic management information to committees, including business risk metrics and dashboards, to monitor the effectiveness of related risks.

Maintain registers:Maintain registers for operational resilience and third-party management,Collaborate with the business to ensure the data is accurate and up-to-date,Regularly review and validate the data to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Maintain issue logs:Assist in the assessment and reporting of errors and operating events,Analyse issues to identify root causes and contributing factors,Responsible for collaborating with all stakeholders when an operating event occurs,Monitor and report on the progress of corrective actions.

What you need to have:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration).Relevant experience of Risk and Control oversight or experience in maintaining registers and logs for operational resilience, third-party management, or operating events.Proven organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.A highly detail-oriented professional.An interest in understanding a problem and analytical and problem-solving skill.Interest in gaining a broad view of a business with experience in interacting with stakeholders across functional and geographic boundaries.Knowledge of investment management business and regulatory environments a distinct advantage.Self-starter with energy, tenacity, resilience and ability to deliver outcomes.Technology skills – at a minimum proficiency required in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

What will make you stand out:Self-starter with energy, proactivity and desire to see things done efficiently.Prior experience in coordinating/implementing client transitions.Accuracy & attention to detail key requirements.Ability to consistently prioritize work.Solutions driven – ability to see the bigger picture and be proactive in identifying areas for service enhancement.Strong proficiency in Excel with experience using daily in previous roles.
