Role Overview
We are looking for an AV Presales, Design & Estimation Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in designing and preparing cost estimates for audio-visual solutions. The role involves understanding client requirements, developing AV system designs, preparing accurate technical proposals and quotations and coordinating with sales and project teams to deliver competitive bids.
The ideal candidate will have both technical AV knowledge and commercial acumen, along with having experience in submitting AV estimate & solution for govt, commercial, education, residential, hospitality etc. verticals.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather client requirements and translate them into detailed AV system designs.
- Prepare accurate BOQs (Bill of Quantities), cost estimates and technical documentation
- Work with vendors/distributors to obtain pricing and ensure cost competitiveness.
- Collaborate with sales teams to prepare tender responses and bid documents.
- Ensure system designs meet project requirements, budgets and industry standards.
- Support the sales process with technical clarifications during client discussions.
- Support sales teams in preparing technical proposals and tender responses.
- Maintain updated knowledge of AV products, pricing and technology trends.
- Provide Necessary design documentation to project teams upon order confirmation.
- Provide technical assistance to project execution teams during handover and implementation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Projects, Procurement, Service) to align solutions with client expectations.
- Mentor and train freshers/new team members on design standards, workflows and tools.
- Regularly update the organization's AV solution knowledge base, including best practices, design templates and new technology insights.
- Conduct internal sessions to share product knowledge, design methodologies and industry trends.
- Develop AV schematics, layouts and technical drawings using CAD, Visio and other design tools.
- Maintain standardized libraries and templates for faster project turnaround.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Electronics, Electrical, IT, or related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in AV/ELV/ IT design and estimation.
- Strong expertise in AutoCAD, Visio and related design/documentation tools.
- Knowledge of AV system components (control systems, displays, audio DSPs, networking, switching, etc.).
- Familiarity with leading AV brands and platforms (Crestron, Kramer, Wyrestorm, Lightware, Extron, Q-SYS, Dante, CTS, etc.).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in responding to RFPs, tenders and large project bids.
- Industry certifications (Crestron, Kramer, Wyrestorm, Lightware, Extron, Q-SYS, Dante, CTS, etc.).
- Understanding of IT networking concepts relevant to AV integration.
- Prior experience in training or mentoring junior engineers.
