Role description

Role Overview

We are looking for a versatile professional who can operate as both a Product Owner and a Product Designer. This role requires someone who can translate business needs into user journeys, define user stories, and also design user interfaces and workflows for banking onboarding processes. The ideal candidate brings together product thinking, UX skills, and delivery focus to own the functional design of complex, high-impact digital journeys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Design end-to-end onboarding flows including wireframes, mockups, and annotated UX specifications.

  • Create journey maps and service blueprints to capture current vs. future state workflows.

  • Work with developers, QA, and integration teams to ensure feature feasibility and delivery alignment.

  • Maintain product backlog, prioritize stories, and ensure sprint readiness in coordination with Scrum Master.

  • Conduct story walkthroughs, validate development output, and own demo preparation.

  • Ensure UX consistency and accessibility compliance across onboarding journeys.

  • Act as the first point of contact for any functional or UX queries raised by the development or QA team.

Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a dual role as Product Owner and UX Designer or Business Analyst with UX responsibilities.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design, responsive UX, and onboarding workflows in financial services.

  • Experience with tools like Figma, Lucidchart, Adobe XD, or equivalent for wireframing and design.

  • Proficiency in writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing JIRA/Confluence artifacts.

  • Ability to create visual journey maps and mockups to communicate design intent clearly.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working in banking or credit union onboarding platforms (e.g., account opening, IDV, fraud check).

  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design frameworks.
