Job Summary: The Senior Manager, Application Presales, is responsible for leading and managing the presales team to support the sales process for application solutions. This role involves collaborating with sales, marketing, product development, and technical teams to deliver compelling solutions that meet customer needs. The Senior Manager will ensure the team effectively communicates the value propositions of our application offerings, demonstrating how they address customer challenges and drive business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing presales team.
  • Allocate resources effectively to support sales opportunities.
  • Set goals and objectives for the presales team and monitor performance.
  • Sales Support:
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and develop tailored solutions.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to articulate the value of application solutions.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed proposals, RFP responses, and solution designs.
  • Solution Development:
  • Work closely with product development and technical teams to ensure solutions meet customer needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in application technology.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's application portfolio.
  • Strategy and Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies and go-to-market plans.
  • Identify and assess new business opportunities and market trends.
  • Provide feedback to product teams regarding customer needs and competitive insights.
  • Customer Engagement:
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts to showcase application capabilities.
  • Address customer concerns and objections effectively to advance the sales process.
  • Performance Measurement:
  • Track and report on presales activities and outcomes.
  • Analyze win/loss data to improve presales strategies and processes.
  • Implement best practices and continuously improve the presales function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in presales, sales engineering, or a related role in the application software industry.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing a successful presales team.
  • Strong understanding of application software solutions and their business impact.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling business value propositions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise application software is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of industry-specific application solutions.
  • Experience working in a global or multi-national organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales enablement tools.
