Key Account Manager E-Commerce

As a Key Account Manager for Ecommerce at Popular Essentials Inc. , you will be responsible for managing and growing e-commerce accounts while navigating the operational complexities of a family-owned business. This role requires a hands-on approach, including manual price tracking, assisting in warehouse operations, and directly managing customer relationships in a fast-paced environment where getting your hands dirty is part of the job.
Key Responsibilities- End-to-End Account Management & Business Growth:
- Own and drive sales performance across key e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, BigBasket, etc.).
- Develop Joint Business Plans (JBP) with marketplace partners, aligning business goals.
- Identify new opportunities for increasing revenue and expanding market share.
- Manually track competitor pricing, promotions, and category trends to adjust strategies.
- Hands-On Operational Support:
- Work closely with the warehouse team—help unload shipments if needed, ensure inventory is managed efficiently.
- Coordinate deliveries and appointment scheduling with marketplaces and logistics partners.
- Support order processing and troubleshoot order fulfillment issues.
- Maintain manual records where necessary, ensuring price accuracy, promotional tracking, and stock levels.
- Sales, P&L, and Performance Management:
- Optimize product listings, pricing, and promotions to drive conversions.
- Ensure high-margin products are prioritized while negotiating Terms of Trade (TOT).
- Monitor and improve e-commerce performance metrics, including fill rates, stock availability, and return rates.
- Brand Visibility & Promotions:
- Execute brand activations, cross-promotions, and visibility campaigns with ecommerce platforms.
- Manage online advertising campaigns, including sponsored listings and seasonal promotions.
- Work closely with marketing teams to ensure updated content and product images across platforms.
- Financial & Budget Management:
- Track ecommerce P&L manually, ensuring optimal spending on promotions and visibility.
- Work with finance teams to reconcile payments, vendor invoices, and settlement disputes.
- Ensure marketplace commissions, discounts, and promotional spends are well-accounted for.
- Stakeholder & Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with marketplace category managers and buyers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and annual agreements with e-commerce partners.
- Act as a bridge between sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Data, Reporting & Manual Record Keeping:
- Maintain manual price sheets to track competitor pricing and promotional strategies.
- Provide data-driven insights to management, even if collected manually from marketplaces.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and recommend strategic actions.
- Education:
- MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management, Finance (preferred but not mandatory).
- Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience in handling ecommerce accounts, preferably in a start-ups or high-involvement business.
- Comfortable working in a manual process-driven environment with limited automation.
- Prior experience managing e-commerce P&L, pricing, and promotions.
- Experience with operational tasks such as inventory handling, warehouse coordination, and logistics management.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Ecommerce Sales & Strategy: Ability to drive online revenue and optimize sales channels.
- Hands-on Operational Execution: Willingness to physically support warehouse tasks, track pricing manually, and handle real-world operational challenges.
- Data Management & Analysis: Comfortable with manual reporting and tracking.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong financial and negotiation skills for TOTs and budget planning.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to juggle multiple roles in a dynamic family business.
- People Skills: Strong relationship management with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
