Senior Manager, Business Development

Reports to: Head - Business Development


Main objective -

The Senior Manager, Business Development will be responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market presence through strategic partnerships, new business opportunities, and market expansion. This role demands a deep understanding of the hotel industry, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective business development strategies.


Key Responsibilities-


  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to increase hotel occupancy, revenue, and profitability.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate partnerships, group bookings, and event contracts.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform and refine business development strategies.


  • Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agencies, corporate accounts, and other stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts and agreements to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to enhance brand visibility and market presence.


  • Market Expansion:
  • Identify and assess new market segments and geographic areas for expansion.
  • Develop strategies to penetrate new markets and increase market share.
  • Foster partnerships with local businesses, event organizers, and tourism boards to drive bookings.


  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor the business development team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Coordinate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment and maximize business opportunities.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement development plans to enhance skills and productivity.


  • Reporting and Communication:
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on business development activities, progress, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth execution of business initiatives


In addition to the above mentioned duties and job functions, any other assignment given on an occasional basis or daily basis by the immediate superior or the management will have to be carried out.


  • Education & Experience-
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in business development in the hotel industry, with at least 8 years in a managerial role.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, managing key accounts, and expanding market presence.
