Job Title: Area Sales Manager Retail (Surat)

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reporting to: Regional Sales Manager / Zonal Head

Location: Surat, Gujarat

Industry: Construction Chemicals

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Sales Manager Retail to oversee sales operations in Surat and nearby regions for our Construction Chemicals division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for expanding the retail footprint, managing dealer/distributor networks, and driving revenue through channel sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Develop and implement retail sales strategies to grow business in the assigned territory.
  • Identify and onboard new dealers, distributors, and retail partners.
  • Promote the companys construction chemical products like waterproofing, tile adhesives, sealants, admixtures, grouts, etc.

Channel Management

  • Strengthen relationships with existing channel partners.
  • Ensure proper stock levels, visibility, and branding at dealer points.
  • Handle channel conflict and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Conduct regular training for channel partners on new products.

Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and competitor activities.
  • Provide insights on customer preferences, pricing trends, and market gaps.
  • Prepare and submit detailed sales reports to management on a regular basis.

Customer Engagement

  • Work with contractors, masons, and influencers to promote product usage.
  • Organize mason meets, retailer meets, and local promotional activities.
  • Provide technical support and product demos when required.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate in any discipline (preferred: B.Tech Civil / B.Sc. Chemistry / MBA in Marketing).
  • Experience: 8 years of relevant experience in channel sales, preferably in construction chemicals, paints, adhesives, or building materials.
  • Location Expertise: Should have good knowledge and experience working in Surat and South Gujarat markets.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Distributor/channel management
  • Sales planning & forecasting
  • Basic technical understanding of construction chemicals
  • Proficiency in MS Office & CRM tools

Other Details:

  • Travel: Extensive local travel within assigned territory
  • Languages: Fluency in Gujarati, Hindi, and English preferred
