Position Summary

The Senior Manager Channel Sales will lead and drive sales of social impact products Concept products (online education platform), consumer durable and FMCG products e.g., solar lights, sanitary pads, induction cookstoves, water purifiers, womens personal care and grooming products, and productive-use renewable energy devices across rural markets. The role involves managing state sales teams, supporting and scaling sales of the network of Dharma Life Entrepreneurs (DLEs) at the village level, and ensuring consistent sales by women entrepreneurs , sales order booking via Mobile App, and timely remittance of sales collections.

The position holder will build robust sales strategies, strengthen last-mile channel capacity, and mentor DLEs through field staff, ensuring rural households access essential social impact products that improve quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

1. Channel Sales Management

  • Develop and execute channel sales strategies to achieve revenue, penetration, and sales targets for consumer durable and FMCG social impact products.
  • Drive product adoption and repeat sales through the DLE network and state-level sales teams.
  • Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets at state an regional levels.

2. Channel Development & Capacity Building

  • Strengthen the base of Dharma Life Entrepreneurs (DLEs) across assigned geographies with consistent sales.
  • Provide structured mentoring, and ongoing motivation to DLEs through field \teams to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Facilitate digital adoption of the Mobile App for order booking, delivery, and collection.
  • Build a feedback loop between DLEs, customers, and the central team to improve product offerings and service.

3. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and manage state sales teams and field staff for achieving sales objectives.
  • Set performance goals, review progress, and provide continuous support to team members.
  • Ensure alignment of field staff with organizational values, compliance standards, and impact mission.

4. Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure all DLE order bookings and sales value deposits are accurately tracked and reconciled.
  • Monitor adherence to standard operating processes for cash/UPI collections, stock movement, and reporting.
  • Work closely with product procurement , supply chain and finance teams to ensure timely product availability and payment compliance.

5. Market Development & Consumer Engagement

  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to refine go-to-market strategies.
  • Drive awareness campaigns in rural communities for product categories such as clean energy, womens hygiene, and household essentials.
  • Collaborate with marketing and impact teams to co-design campaigns that link sales with social impact messaging.

6. Reporting & Analytics

  • Track and report sales performance through dashboards, MIS, and field reports.
  • Use data analytics to optimize sales productivity, DLE engagement, and geographic expansion.
  • Present regular updates to senior leadership on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in Business Management, Rural Management, Sales & Marketing, or equivalent.
  • 812 years of proven experience in channel sales, rural sales, FMCG/consumer durables, or social enterprise distribution.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing last-mile distribution networks.
  • Strong experience in leading multi-level teams (state managers, field sales staff, local entrepreneurs).
  • Familiarity with digital/mobile platforms for sales tracking and payments is an advantage.
