Role Summary
The Manager – Sales & Marketing (PP Compounds) will spearhead the strategic growth of JJ Plastalloy's Polypropylene Compounds business across Automotive and Non-Automotive sectors. This position demands strong technical and commercial expertise in PP Compounds, particularly in managing OEMs, Tier 1 vendors, and distributors.
The role will focus on developing business strategies, achieving sales and profitability targets, driving approvals, and managing customer relationships to strengthen JJ Plastalloy's leadership position in the PP Compounds market.
The Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance, ensuring seamless alignment between market needs and operational execution. Additionally, this role entails leading a sales team, building accountability, and delivering performance through structured market engagement and customer development.
You will also be responsible for preparing region-wise and product-wise sales projections, evaluating new business opportunities, and ensuring the PP Compounds business achieves sustainable, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Sector Focus
PP Compounds (Automotive): Applications across 2W, 4W, and commercial vehicles.
PP Compounds (Non-Automotive): Applications in appliances, white goods, and electrical components.
Customer Engagement & Distributor Management
Identify, appoint, and onboard distributors to enhance JJ Plastalloy's PP Compounds market reach.
Track distributor performance and ensure adherence to business objectives.
Strengthen the channel network to maximize market coverage and sales penetration.
Build and sustain strong relationships with OEMs and Tier 1 vendors for PP Compound opportunities.
Manage commercial negotiations while ensuring technical and commercial alignment.
Drive customer approvals and specifications for new grades.
Sales & Business Development
Lead the end-to-end sales cycle — from lead generation to deal closure and post-sales support.
Achieve and exceed business targets for PP Compounds (Auto & Non-Auto).
Develop new customers while maintaining existing key accounts.
Conduct regular market mapping, competitor benchmarking, and trend analysis.
Commercial & Order Execution
Oversee order processing, dispatch planning, and coordination with SCM and Manufacturing.
Ensure delivery commitments and quality standards are met.
Work with Finance for invoice tracking and payment follow-up.
Collaboration with Technical & R&D Teams
Partner with R&D to develop and commercialize PP Compound grades based on customer specifications.
Ensure QC and production teams maintain consistent compound quality.
Align production forecasts with demand planning and sales commitments.
Strategic Business Development
Design and implement growth strategies for PP Compounds in both Auto and Non-Auto sectors.
Identify new market applications and product opportunities.
Expand JJ Plastalloy's footprint across regions through OEM and Tier 1 partnerships.
Develop long-term product roadmaps in collaboration with the product and technical teams.
Sales Forecasting & Reporting
Prepare region-wise and product-wise PP Compound sales forecasts.
Review monthly/quarterly performance against KPIs and targets.
Present market updates, business pipeline, and achievements to the senior management/CEO.
Leadership & Team Management
Guide and mentor the PP Compounds sales team to achieve high performance.
Establish measurable KPIs and review progress regularly.
Foster collaboration and accountability within the sales organization.
Financial Oversight
Ensure timely payment collection and enforce credit control measures.
Collaborate with Finance to manage customer credit risk and collection cycles.
CRM & Reporting
Maintain accurate lead and pipeline data in Zoho CRM.
Generate MIS reports on PP Compounds performance and opportunities.
Monitor conversion rates, hit ratios, and customer engagement metrics.
Customer Retention & Service
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and after-sales support.
Address product or service-related issues in coordination with technical and logistics teams.
Strengthen long-term business relationships with key customers.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of PP Compounds formulations, applications, and processing requirements.
Proven experience in Auto and Non-Auto segment business development.
Ability to manage OEM and Tier 1 approvals and trials.
Proficiency in CRM (Zoho), MS Office, and ERP tools.
