We are seeking an experienced Buyer Women's Ethnic Wear to manage the end-to-end buying process, from vendor sourcing and product development to seasonal planning and range finalization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the ethnic wear market, a strong vendor network, and hands-on experience in buying for retail or e-commerce brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and onboard new vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers for women's ethnic wear.
  • Plan and execute seasonal buying strategies aligned with brand positioning and sales targets.
  • Conduct market research and analyze competitor collections and consumer preferences to ensure relevant product curation.
  • Oversee fabric and trim selection, negotiate prices, and finalize costings with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams for product development and range building.
  • Monitor sales performance, stock movement, and replenishment needs; recommend markdowns when necessary.
  • Conduct market and trade visits to identify new trends and sourcing opportunities.
  • Ensure timely deliveries and uphold quality standards as per brand guidelines.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of women's ethnic wear categories – kurtas, suit sets, dupattas, festive and occasion wear.
  • Excellent vendor management, negotiation, and sourcing skills.
  • Understanding of fabrics, embroideries, trims, and garment construction.
  • Strong commercial acumen and trend awareness.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with solid planning and coordination abilities.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration with design, merchandising, and retail teams.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Fashion Management, Fashion Buying, or related field (NIFT/NID preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in women's ethnic wear buying for retail or e-commerce brands.
