Job Title: Sr. Designer – Women's Western Wear & Kidswear (buying house)

Department: Design / Merchandising

Location: Gurgaon (Udyog Vihar)

Job Summary:

Responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing creative and commercially viable collections for women's western wear and kidswear in alignment with buyer requirements and seasonal fashion trends. The role involves end-to-end product development — from trend research and fabric selection to sampling coordination and buyer presentations — ensuring high design quality and timely execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research global fashion trends, colors, silhouettes, prints, and trims relevant to women's western wear and kidswear.
  • Develop seasonal design concepts, mood boards, CADs, and storyboards for buyer presentations.
  • Design and develop collections across categories such as tops, dresses, skirts, bottoms, sets, and outerwear.
  • Create detailed tech packs and ensure clarity for sampling and production teams.
  • Source appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories in coordination with merchandising and sourcing teams.
  • Oversee the sampling process — ensuring design intent, fit, and finishing are maintained.
  • Conduct fit sessions and provide necessary design corrections.
  • Coordinate closely with QA, production, and merchandising teams to ensure seamless sample-to-bulk transition.
  • Maintain accurate records of seasonal collections, design archives, and buyer feedback.
  • Ensure designs meet quality, comfort, and safety standards, especially for kidswear.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of women's western wear and kidswear trends, silhouettes, and fabric behavior.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDRAW for CAD and presentation development.
  • Good sense of styling, color coordination, and detailing.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • 15–25 years of experience in apparel design for buying/export houses or design studios.

Educational Qualification:

  • Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design from NIFT, Pearl Academy, or a reputed fashion institute.
