Sales Manager
to lead business development efforts at its Kolkata branch. This is a high-impact role for a logistics professional with deep market insight, strong relationship-building skills, and a proven track record in driving sales across multimodal logistics services.
Role Overview
The
Sales Manager
will spearhead revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and delivering on sales targets across OECL's full suite of services—including freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, 3PL, and transportation. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring client satisfaction and operational alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business acquisition across freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, 3PL, and transportation verticals
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets and expand the customer base
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring repeat business and referrals
- Analyse client requirements and propose tailored logistics solutions
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations, and service agreements
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics to inform sales strategy
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status using CRM tools
- Report performance metrics to the Regional Manager or National Sales Head on a monthly / quarterly basis
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10 years of proven experience in logistics sales, with a strong understanding of freight forwarding and supply chain services
- Demonstrated success in business development, client management, and achieving sales targets
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM platforms
- Strong problem-solving mindset and hands-on approach to execution
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
