Job Summary:

The Bakery Commis assists the Bakery Chef in preparing, baking, and finishing a variety of bakery products such as breads, rolls, croissants, buns, and other baked goods. Responsible for maintaining product consistency, hygiene, and kitchen standards while supporting the day-to-day operations of the bakery section.

Key Responsibilities:


• Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, rolls, loaves, and other yeast-based products.


• Follow standard recipes and portion guidelines as directed by the Bakery Chef.


• Operate and maintain baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, proofers, and dough sheeters.


• Monitor fermentation, baking time, and temperature to ensure product quality.


• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bakery area as per food safety standards.


• Store raw materials and finished goods properly to prevent wastage or contamination.


• Assist in daily mise-en-place and ensure timely preparation of bakery items for service.


• Support inventory control by informing the chef about low stock or damaged items.


• Follow all safety and sanitation policies as per company and FSSAI guidelines.

Requirements:


• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in bakery operations (not pastry).


• Knowledge of bread-making techniques, dough handling, and proofing.


• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualification:


• Diploma or certificate in Bakery or Culinary Arts from a recognized institute (IHM/NCHMCT or equivalent).
