Desktop support engineer

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–2 years of proven experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or technical support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office applications,.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory, user account management, and group policies.
  • Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals).
  • Experience with antivirus, patch management, and basic networking (LAN/Wi-Fi, IP configuration).
  • Good understanding of remote support tools and ticketing systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCSA/MDA, ITIL Foundation) will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications.
  • Maintain system performance, security, and backups.
  • Support user account management and IT assets.
  • Document issues/resolutions and assist with IT projects.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure smooth IT operations.
