Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Manager based in Kolkata. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and cultivating business opportunities, building a robust client base, and developing strategic partnerships. Responsibilities include driving revenue growth, nurturing client relationships, presenting solutions tailored to client needs, and collaborating with internal teams to meet goals. The role also involves market research to identify trends, creating competitive strategies, and analyzing financial performance to identify growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Strong skills in business development, lead generation, and client engagement
- Ability to strategize market penetration, analyze competition, and identify growth prospects
- Experience in team collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management
- Proficiency in financial analysis, negotiation, and understanding of market dynamics
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field; MBA is a plus
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Adaptable to on-site work environment in Kolkata
- Proficiency in digital tools and CRM platforms is a bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Institutional Partnerships & Alliances
- Identify, approach, and establish partnerships with colleges, universities, and academic organizations.
- Develop tie-ups for student training programs, placement collaborations, seminars, and workshops.
- Maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in educational institutions.
- Represent BCIPL at academic fairs, educational expos, and institutional events.
Marketing & Brand Activation:
- Plan and execute ATL (Above the Line) and BTL (Below the Line) marketing strategies to promote BCIPL's programs.
- Organize on-ground activation drives, seminars, webinars, and promotional events.
- Collaborate with the marketing team for campaign planning, lead generation, and brand communication.
- Analyze marketing ROI and recommend improvements for future campaigns.
Sales & Business Growth:
- Drive enrollment targets through institutional partnerships and lead generation campaigns.
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
- Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with BCIPL's expansion goals.
- Track performance metrics, report progress, and forecast growth opportunities.
Team Collaboration & Reporting:
- Work closely with academic, marketing, and operations teams to align strategies and deliverables.
- Prepare detailed reports on market trends, competitor activities, and partnership outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in business development, preferably in EdTech or education sector.
- Proven network and relationships with college principals, placement heads, and training coordinators.
- Strong knowledge and execution experience in ATL & BTL marketing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-driven, result-oriented, and comfortable with travel for business meetings and events.
- Prior experience in student acquisition or academic partnership roles.
- Understanding of the education landscape and institutional sales model.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strategic focus.
- Passion for education, youth development, and skill empowerment.
