This opening is with a German construction equipment manufacturing company that operates in over 120 countries. The base location for this role can be in any metro city in India, and the position involves frequent international travel.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global category strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through risk mitigation, supply base optimization, and intercompany business minimization.
  • Analyze current market trends and monitor future developments, benchmark pricing, and create competitive agreements to optimize category spend while ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Optimize the supply chain by defining preferred suppliers for each sub-commodity. Develop supplier roadmaps with strategic partners, and onboard new suppliers when necessary to enhance diversity and security within the supplier base.
  • Monitor supplier performance through evaluations and PM-SANY group volume analysis. Lead annual negotiations to secure terms and conditions with global category suppliers.
  • Create, manage, and review purchasing contracts, ensuring compliance with country-specific legal and organizational requirements.
  • Organize regular meetings with stakeholders and the core team, and liaise with regional category buyers/managers during strategy development.
