Role & responsibilities
As a Territory Sales Officer, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, market penetration, and customer satisfaction in a defined geographic territory for twowheelers. You will ensure retail and dispatch targets are met, assist with dealer & channel management, and provide excellent service and brand representation in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve sales targets (retail & dispatch) for the assigned territory on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Develop and maintain relationships with dealers, showrooms, and potential customers.
- Ensure dealer inventory planning, stock availability, and timely display / test rides.
- Assist in identification and appointment of potential dealers / retail touchpoints in untapped/underserved areas.
- Monitor and manage market share in the territory; conduct competitor analysis and respond to market changes.
- Ensure proper implementation of the Dealer Sales Process Management (DSPM) and adherence to SOPs.
- Collect timely payments / funds, manage receivables, coordinate with finance and dealers.
- Maintain customer experience standards at all touchpoints (dealer showroom, test rides, after sale interactions).
- Execute sales promotion activities, campaigns, and promotional programs as per plan.
- Provide feedback to Product, Marketing, and other internal teams based on customer & dealer inputs.
- Maintain reports / MIS (sales, inventory, market intelligence, feedback) and share with supervisors.
- Ensure your team (if applicable) or associates in the territory are properly trained and motivated.
Preferred candidate profile
Education
MBA (FULL TIME ONLY)
Experience
15 years, preferably experience in automotive / twowheeler / field sales.
Knowledge & Technical Skills
Understanding of sales planning & execution; basic knowledge of dealer / channel management; familiarity with product variants; ability to use CRM / ERP tools; proficiency in MS Office.
Behavioral Skills
Strong communication & interpersonal skills; negotiation; time management; decision making; ability to work independently; customeroriented mindset; ability to travel within territory.
Working Conditions
- Fieldbased role; significant travel across territory.
- Long hours during launches / promotions, weekends may be required.
- Needs to manage multiple stakeholders (dealers, customers, internal teams).
