A Sales Manager in a sports goods company develops sales strategies, sets targets, recruits and motivates the sales team, manages client and distributor relationships, analyzes market trends, and collaborates with other departments to drive revenue and market share for the company's products. Key responsibilities include creating sales plans, training sales staff, setting sales goals, managing the sales pipeline, reporting sales performance, and fostering long-term partnerships with customers.

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and Implement Sales Plans: Create and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve revenue and market share goals.
  • Set Sales Targets: Establish clear sales goals and monitor the team's performance against these objectives.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and growth areas.
  • Promotional Activities: Coordinate with the marketing department to implement product promotions, pricing strategies, and pricing policies.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, Train, and Motivate: Hire, train, and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Coaching and Feedback: Provide regular coaching and performance feedback to team members.
  • Performance Management: Set performance metrics, conduct regular meetings, and track the team's achievements.

Client and Distributor Management

  • Customer Relationship Management: Manage key client relationships, ensure high customer satisfaction, and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Channel Management: Manage relationships with distributors and dealers and expand distribution channels.
  • Negotiate Contracts: Lead contract negotiations and close deals that align with the company's profitability goals.

Reporting and Collaboration

  • Sales Reporting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, product development, and other internal teams to align sales efforts with overall company goals.
  • Problem Solving: Act as a point of contact for sales-related issues and ensure the sales team has the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
