Job Responsibilities
- a hospital administrator oversees the non-clinical, business, and educational functions of the institution's teaching hospital and clinical departments.
- Their primary role is to ensure that the facility runs efficiently while upholding educational standards for dental students and providing quality patient care.
- Inventory management: They monitor and maintain stock levels of dental instruments, medical supplies, and office supplies, ensuring timely ordering and adequate resources for students and practitioners
- Staff supervision:
- The administrator oversees the training, and supervision of non-Teaching staff, including administrative personnel, receptionists, and support staff
- Scheduling and coordination: They coordinate staff and student schedules to ensure adequate staffing across various dental departments
- Regulatory compliance: This is a crucial responsibility, which includes ensuring the facility and its procedures comply with all government regulations, and maintain accreditation standards.
- Risk management: They protect the institution from legal and financial issues by overseeing compliance and proactively managing risks.
- Infection control and safety:
- The administrator ensures the hospital meets safety requirements, including the sterilization of dental instruments and the maintenance of a safe and sanitary environment.
- Liaison activities:
- The hospital administrator will act as a vital link and communicator between the dental college's governing boards, faculty, medical staff, department heads, and external stakeholders.
- Technology integration:
- This includes staying up-to-date with advances in dental technology and data processing, and integrating new systems and software into the college hospital's operations
