Role & responsibilities
- Patient Management: Greet visitors and patients, register them, schedule appointments, and manage check-in/check-out procedures.
- Customer Service: Act as the first point of contact, answer phone calls, handle patient and visitor inquiries, and address concerns professionally.
- Administrative Support: Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, manage administrative tasks like data entry, and ensure patient records are accurate and confidential.
- Coordination: Liaise with doctors, nurses, and other hospital departments to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations.
- Billing and Payments: Generate and review patient bills, process payments, and manage outstanding balances.
- Insurance Handling: Submit insurance claims, verify patient insurance coverage, and follow up with insurance companies on claim status.
- Financial Records: Maintain accurate records of all billing and financial transactions.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve any billing-related issues or discrepancies for patients.
- Compliance: Ensure all billing processes are in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Preferred candidate profile
- Education: A degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Hospital Management is preferred, but not always required.
- Languages: Proficiency in English, Tamil, and possibly Hindi is crucial for effective communication in Chennai.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with hospital management software are essential.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills are vital. The ability to multitask and work under pressure is also important.
- Experience: Prior experience in a similar front office or billing role is often an advantage.
