We're Hiring: Service Desk Officers (Day Shift)
The Role
The Service Desk Officer is responsible to a Service Desk Manager, for the delivery of customer-oriented services within an efficient service desk to support our client's business units.
The incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of effective and knowledgeable incident and service request management in accordance with policies, procedures and service level agreements.
The position works as part of a Service Desk team and reports to Service Desk Team Leader and Manager.
- Close working relationship with the second service desk team located at another site and the Technology and Infrastructure directorate.
- Liaises with customers, management and staff.
- The positions will work in collaboration with Customer Account Managers and Service Delivery Managers.
- Participate as a single virtual team that operates from two locations.
- Their information systems include over 460 sites, 20,000 desktops, 500 servers and over 1,000 applications. The customer base is estimated at over 25,000 users.
- Managing difficult customers professionally
- Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5:45 PM
You
Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to problem solve through investigation, research and consultation.
- Ability to document procedures to improve response, installations, training and problem solving.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines, work under pressure, determine priorities, plan and organise work and maintain accuracy.
- Proven ability to work within a team.
- Ability to exercise judgement and vigilance to ensure the confidentiality of all records within the area of responsibility.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of excellent customer service.
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively in an ICT service desk environment and/or in the use of a range of computer systems.
- Demonstrated experience in working with highly confidential material and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information.
Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge in standard desk top environment applications
- ITIL Foundation Certificate
