Position Summary

The Pricing Executive will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing pricing strategies for freight forwarding and logistics services (air, ocean, land, FCL/LCL, warehousing) in line with the company's objectives. This role requires strong analytical skills, market awareness in logistics/freight forwarding, excellent communication, and the ability to interface with sales, operations and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain pricing models for all services: air freight, ocean freight (FCL & LCL), land freight, cross-border, warehousing, value-added services.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor pricing, cost structures (fuel, labour, port charges, duties, customs), and feed insights into pricing decisions.
  • Collaborate with Sales/Business Development teams to propose competitive quotes while maintaining profitability.
  • Liaise with Operations and Finance to ensure cost inputs are accurate (carrier contracts, handling charges, customs duties, etc.).
  • Prepare and present pricing proposals, maintain a pricing database, ensure quotes and rate sheets are updated and accessible.
  • Manage rate negotiations with carriers, agents and partners to secure favourable terms.
  • Ensure pricing compliance with internal policies and external regulations (customs/duties/EDI as applicable).
  • Generate periodic reports to senior management on pricing performance, margin analysis, service line profitability.
  • Support ad-hoc pricing/quoting tasks, review existing contracts for renewal, and identify opportunities to optimise margins.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in pricing, rate management or commercial roles within the logistics/freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong knowledge of freight forwarding operations: air/ocean/land, FCL/LCL, warehousing, customs clearance.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills; proficient in Excel and comfortable with data analysis.
  • Good understanding of cost structures in logistics (transportation, handling, customs duties, warehousing).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, operations and finance teams.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of logistics software/ERP (WMS/CRM) or freight-forwarding rate management tools.
  • Experience in the Middle East or GCC logistics market would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with contract management and rate-sheet maintenance.
