Business Development Manager

- Business and revenue growth: Develop and implement strategies to expand the company's market presence, identify new markets, and achieve sales and revenue targets.
- Client relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, from initial contact through contract negotiation and order execution.
- Market and lead generation: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Identify new prospective clients and pursue leads through targeted prospecting activities.
- Sales and contract negotiation: Develop and present proposals, negotiate prices, terms, and quality specifications, and close deals.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with design, production, and marketing teams to ensure products meet market demands and to develop customized solutions for clients.
- Event representation: Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry events to network and promote the brand.
- Performance reporting: Track sales performance, compile reports, and provide forecasts to management.
Qualifications and skills
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is often required, with some roles preferring or requiring a degree or diploma in textiles, or an MBA.
- Experience: Proven experience in business development or sales within the textile, apparel, or garment industry is crucial.
- Industry knowledge: A strong understanding of the textile market, including market dynamics, customer requirements, and product types (e.g., printing, fabrics), is essential.
- Communication and negotiation: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are vital for building relationships and closing deals.
- Technical skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software is typically expected.
- Analytical skills: The ability to analyze market trends and performance data is important for adjusting strategies.
