We are seeking an accomplished Senior Government Sales Manager to spearhead growth in the public sector technology domain, focusing on next-generation Traffic Management, Safe City, and Smart City solutions. This is a senior leadership role for a proven business developer who can navigate the complexities of government sales, build high-level relationships, and secure large-scale, multi-year projects that transform urban infrastructure.
Role Overview
As the strategic face of our organization for government clients, you will drive engagement with municipal corporations, traffic police departments, Smart City CEOs, and urban development authorities, positioning advanced solutions that address urban mobility, safety, and modernization. Your ability to influence stakeholders, respond to complex tenders, and lead high-value deal closures will be key to success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership: Own and execute the sales strategy for Intelligent & Adaptive Traffic Management Systems (ITMS/ATMS), Safe City platforms, and Smart City solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with senior government officials (Commissioners, Police Chiefs, Smart City Mission Leaders) and decision-making bodies.
Ecosystem Collaboration: Partner with system integrators, EPC contractors, camera/surveillance providers, and signaling technology firms to co-create winning solutions.
Tender Management: Track and lead responses to government tenders, RFPs, and policy-driven initiatives under Smart City, Safe City, and NHAI programs.
Account Development: Drive multi-year, ₹50+ crore project pursuits, managing the entire sales cycle from strategy to closure.
Solution Tailoring: Work with internal product, engineering, and bid management teams to design customized proposals, demos, and financial models.
Market Representation: Represent the organization at government summits, policy forums, and industry expos to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
Experience & Expertise
Proven Track Record: 10+ years of enterprise/government sales experience with large-scale public sector technology projects.
Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of ITMS, ATMS, Safe City platforms, surveillance integration, adaptive signaling, and smart mobility.
Government Ecosystem: Established relationships within municipal corporations, traffic police, transport authorities, and Smart City/SPV leadership.
Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of procurement frameworks (QCBS, L1, EPC, BOT, PPP models) and government contracting processes.
Project Scale: Experience handling accounts and closing projects upwards of ₹50 crore.
Networking Strength: Strong connections with consultants, system integrators, and public sector ecosystem partners.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Background
Prior leadership experience with organizations offering traffic management, safe city, or smart city technologies.
Exposure to national initiatives such as Smart City Mission, Safe City (MHA), MoHUA programs, or NHAI mobility projects.
Technical appreciation of IoT platforms, GIS-driven traffic solutions, and cloud-based urban infrastructure systems.
