Key Responsibilities
- Student Recruitment & Advising:
- Manage a pipeline of prospective students, responding to inquiries via phone, email, video conference, and live chat in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct virtual consultations to understand prospective students' career aspirations and educational needs, and recommend appropriate academic programs.
- Provide comprehensive information regarding curriculum, admission requirements, tuition, financial aid options, and student services.
- Proactively follow up with applicants to ensure they successfully complete all stages of the admissions process.
- Application Management:
- Guide applicants through the online application process, assisting with any technical or procedural questions.
- Review and evaluate admission applications, transcripts, and supporting documents to determine eligibility.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all student interactions and application statuses in the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system (e.g., Salesforce, Slate).
- Virtual Outreach & Events:
- Represent the institution by hosting and participating in virtual information sessions, webinars, and online open houses.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute virtual recruitment strategies and email campaigns.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other remote team members and departments, including Financial Aid, Academic Advising, and the Registrar's Office, to ensure a seamless student onboarding experience.
- Participate in regular virtual team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Provide feedback to leadership on recruitment trends, applicant concerns, and process improvement opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- 2+ years of experience in admissions, recruitment, academic advising, student services, or a related field (e.g., consultative sales).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse student population.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a remote setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working specifically with online or adult learners.
- Familiarity with financial aid processes (FAFSA, scholarships, loans).
- Experience using CRM systems like Slate, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
- Experience conducting virtual presentations and webinars.
Technical Requirements for Remote Work
- A private, quiet, and distraction-free home office environment.
- A reliable, high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing and cloud-based applications.
- A modern computer and a high-quality webcam and headset.
