Plant HR/IR Manager

Experience - Overall 10-15 yrs, min 5 years in HR leadership roles, preferably in a plant/manufacturing setup

Responsibilities -

1. HR Strategy & Workforce Management:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and processes in alignment with corporate and plant objectives.
  • Collaborate with the production team to align workforce planning with production schedules and operational demands.
  • Ensure the availability of skilled and unskilled manpower to meet production targets efficiently.
  • Monitor workforce productivity and identify areas for improvement.

2. Manpower Planning & Deployment:

  • Work closely with production and operations teams to assess daily and weekly workforce requirements.
  • Ensure optimal manpower utilization, shift planning, and rostering to meet production demands.
  • Address absenteeism, attrition, and labor shortages proactively to avoid production disruptions.
  • Implement flexible workforce models, including contract labor management, to support business needs.

3. Talent Acquisition & Capability Building:

  • Oversee manpower planning and recruitment to ensure timely hiring of the right talent.
  • Conduct skill gap analysis and develop training programs for workforce enhancement.
  • Drive employee retention strategies and succession planning.

4. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations:

  • Maintain a harmonious industrial relations environment by working closely with unions and employees.
  • Address grievances, conflicts, and disputes effectively to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, factory acts, and statutory requirements.

5. Performance Management & Employee Engagement:

  • Implement performance tracking mechanisms for shop-floor employees.
  • Design and execute employee engagement initiatives to boost motivation and productivity.
  • Act as a bridge between employees and management to foster a collaborative work culture.

6. Compliance, Safety & Audit Readiness:

  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, statutory regulations, and corporate compliance policies.
  • Collaborate with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) teams to ensure workplace safety and well-being.
  • Handle audits and inspections related to labor laws and HR policies.

Principal Accountabilities - 1. Manpower Deployment: Align workforce planning with production schedules for seamless operations. 2. Employee & Industrial Relations: Maintain a positive labor environment and resolve grievances effectively.

3. Compliance & HR Operations: Ensure adherence to labor laws, payroll, and statutory regulations. 4. Talent Management: Drive hiring, training, and retention to build a skilled workforce. 5. Performance & Productivity: Monitor workforce efficiency and support continuous improvement.
