Role Overview

The Vendor Procurement & Development Manager will lead the strategic sourcing, onboarding, and cost optimization of transport vendors nationwide.

The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to reduce vendor costs by 5% year-on-year (YoY) through volume consolidation, rate renegotiations, and supplier efficiency improvements.

This role also focuses on expanding supply capacity, enhancing vendor compliance, and strengthening vendor partnerships to support business scalability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor Procurement & Development

• Identify, onboard, and qualify new vendors across key operating cities (corporate car rental, airport transfers, and leasing).
• Evaluate vendor capability, vehicle quality, driver standards, and compliance documentation (RC, insurance, permits, GST).
• Expand the vendor network by at least 20% YoY to ensure redundancy and business scalability.
• Develop multi-city vendor relationships for national clients and group contracts.

2. Cost Optimization & Price Renegotiation

• Execute structured vendor rate reviews and negotiations every quarter.
• Consolidate volume-based procurement and drive at least 5% YoY vendor cost reduction without impacting service quality.
• Benchmark rates vs. competition and regional pricing trends.
• Identify savings opportunities through route optimization, longer-term contracts, or digital process efficiencies.

3. Contracting & Compliance

• Draft and finalize vendor SLAs and rate agreements in coordination with legal and finance teams.
• Ensure all vendors meet compliance standards — insurance, PF/ESI, driver verification, and vehicle fitness.
• Track vendor performance via SLAs (availability, on-time rate, client feedback).
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and digital onboarding within the vendor portal or ERP system (TaxiMantra/Zoho).

4. Vendor Relationship Management

• Serve as the single point of contact for vendor escalation, payment coordination, and feedback.
• Conduct quarterly performance reviews and audits.
• Implement vendor incentive programs tied to reliability and cost efficiency.
• Encourage digital adoption (invoice submission, duty slip uploads, e-payment readiness).

5. Data Analysis & Reporting

• Generate MIS reports on vendor spend, cost trends, city-wise supply coverage, and YoY savings.
• Maintain a procurement dashboard tracking vendor costs, supply diversity, and compliance.
• Present monthly savings and new vendor additions to leadership.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong commercial acumen and vendor negotiation ability.
• Excellent understanding of transport procurement, vendor contracting, and cost structures.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and ERP tools.
• Exposure to fleet procurement, vendor leasing, or car rental supply management preferred.
• Ability to drive measurable cost reductions while maintaining service quality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to influence vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Result-oriented, organized, and data-driven professional.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
• 6–10 years of experience in vendor procurement, supply management, or transport contracting, preferably in mobility, logistics, or fleet rental industries.
• Proven experience in cost optimization and supplier development.
• Familiarity with Zoho Books, procurement CRMs, or ERP-based vendor modules.
