Role & responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement planning for consumables, tools & automotive spare parts
  • Ensure timely supply of parts to reduce vehicle downtime and maintain TAT
  • Negotiate pricing, credit terms, service levels & delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Monitor vendor performance using KPIs: lead time, quality rejection rate, service responsiveness, etc.
  • Coordinate closely with workshop & stores team for inventory forecasting
  • Maintain optimum stock levels while avoiding over-stocking / dead inventory
  • Ensure accurate documentation: GRN, PO, invoices, warranty claims, etc.
  • Track cost saving initiatives and develop strong supplier relationships
  • Conduct periodic vendor audits & compliance checks
  • Resolve discrepancies related to damaged, incomplete or incorrect parts received
  • Maintain proper database of vendor contracts, rate lists & performance records
  • Work with finance for timely vendor payments and reconciliation
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety norms & statutory regulations

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong negotiation & vendor relationship management skills
  • Good knowledge of automotive spare parts, workshop processes & inventory systems
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, SAP or inventory management tools
  • Excellent communication & coordination abilities

  • Analytical mindset with focus on cost control & reporting

  • 25 years of experience in vendor management / spare parts procurement in auto industry
