Job Profile:

  1. To monitor the activities of Purchase department.

  2. To check the report of parts for which PO are not made & take action for it.

  3. To study part drawings and prepare/check the costing of make parts & rate comparison of BOP. Arrange to get the rates approved.

  4. To check the report of pending PO status for all vendors. Take action for lead time crossed parts.

  5. To check the status of target dates for shortages against ERP reports.

  6. To check the quality rejections reports & take actions accordingly.

  7. Arrange to feed all job work rates in ERP for vendors and in-house contractors.

  8. To check the reports of pending spare orders & take action accordingly.

  9. To check the requirements of materials other than RPO & sale orders like consumables, Tools, Raw Materials , maintenance parts etc. & take action to purchase the same.

  10. To monitor the status of materials for all three units.

  11. To clean the ERP data so that authentic data can be available to Purchase team.

  12. To do meeting with vendors on regular basis as per defined agenda.

  13. To monitor status of materials for R&D.

  14. To monitor the new Vendor development process as per requirements.

  15. To monitor the process of EPM implementation.

  16. To monitor the process of material planning as per working system of Make to Stock.

  17. To check the ERP report of materials below minimum & above maximum stock levels.

  18. To monitor the vendor evaluation process.

  19. To monitor the implementation of 5S in Purchase as well as Store.

  20. To monitor the status of materials receiving against RGP challans.

  21. To monitor the parts for which lead times are higher & schedule orders need to be issued like castings, Motors, Chains, bearings, cams etc.

  22. To monitor the parts having multiple manufacturing processes like cams, cut off plates, chain assemblies etc.

  23. To do daily material collection planning.

  24. To do miscellaneous jobs like

  25. Giving feedbacks to seniors & other team members

  26. Discussion with vendors.

  27. Supervision & training to purchase & store team.

Education

  • B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Regular) from a reputed institute.

Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Purchase function.

Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of process, technical knowledge to carry out the function, and knowledge of ERP System.
