About The RoleWe are seeking a driven and motivated engineer who can effectively support our sales team to sell automation solutions to be deployed across manufacturing industries like automotive, heavy engineering, foundry, packaged consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, locomotives, construction equipment, etc., using technical and analytical skills.
You will be a member of our sales engineering team co-crafting innovative automation systems and solutions. To excel in this role, you should have a good understanding of automation systems. Experience on automation systems like industrial robots, PLC, relay-logic based systems, etc. is necessary. You will be creating innovative concepts using 2D/3D CAD, Manufacturing Simulation and MS Office tools and engineering proposals with the support from the design, controls and robot teams.
You will also be required to carry out some of the marketing functions (techno-commercial activities, Order booking, dispatch process and documentation, trade events handling, MIS data, etc.)
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role designed for individuals who enjoy cross-functional work, field travel, and owning the customer experience in an engineering-led, deep-tech startup. You'll be interfacing with clients, partners, internal engineers, and ecosystem stakeholders to deliver tailored automation solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngineer high quality techno-commercially compelling proposals
Concept generation using 2D/3D CAD software
Carry out basic simulation activities using manufacturing simulation software's
Prepare cycle time estimation
Preparation of costing and techno commercial offers
Generate RFQ's for peripheral automation elements like conveyors, gauging fixtures, machining fixtures, pallets, gauging systems, etc.,
Selection of standard automation elements like Robots, Pneumatic components selection, Sensors selection, PLC/HMI/IO's selection, Motor and Gearbox selection, etc.
Costing and sales related CRM activities
Inquiry management and report generation
Any other task assigned by management within scope of the position
Required Qualifications:Education Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Production / Automobile /Industrial / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering
Candidates with pre-sales or application engineering experience in Fanuc, ABB, Difacto, Yaskawa, Doosan, or other robot OEMs or automation system integrators are preferred.
A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in pre-sales or application engineering of Industrial automation systems or products
Read and understand engineering drawings, good in GD&T concepts, understanding concepts of product design, mechanical properties and machine elements
Ability to understand and document customer requirements
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Power Point
Good reasoning ability
Ability to analyze and solve practical problems
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Performing duties requiring considerable judgment to work independently such as devising new methods, adapting or changing standard procedures to meet new conditions, and making decisions guided by precedent and within established policies.
Advanced computer and internet research skills are required. Experience in robot simulation
Good listening, communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in the English language is important.
Tolerance of ambiguity, customer centric, result driven and commitment to task.
Teamwork and leadership skills.
