We are seeking a highly experienced, results-driven
Business Manager
to lead our operations and drive significant revenue growth in
Accra, Ghana
. The successful candidate must possess deep knowledge and extensive experience in the
freight, logistics, or supply chain industry
. This critical leadership role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in sales, branch management, and achieving ambitious business targets within the freight sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Freight Industry Leadership:
Apply extensive knowledge of global and regional freight forwarding, logistics, and customs procedures to strategically manage and grow the business. - Sales and Revenue Generation:
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve and
exceed substantial sales and revenue targets
. The candidate must demonstrate a historical capacity for meeting high, demanding revenue goals. - Branch Management & Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the freight branch, ensuring efficiency, compliance with international shipping regulations, and overall profitability. - Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and manage the sales and branch teams, fostering a high-performance, customer-focused culture within the logistics environment. - Strategic Planning:
Analyze market trends in the freight industry, identify new business opportunities (e.g., specific shipping lanes, modes of transport), and develop plans to capture them. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Effectively negotiate large-scale contracts and communicate clearly with clients, carriers, customs officials, and internal stakeholders. - Problem Solving & Decision Making:
Act as the ultimate decision-maker for branch-level operational issues, applying strong analytical skills to resolve complex logistics and supply chain challenges.
Required Qualifications and Professional ProfileIndustry and Experience
- Industry Focus:
Deep knowledge and extensive professional experience
in the freight, logistics, or supply chain industry is mandatory. - Experience:
10+ years
of progressive experience in senior
sales and branch management
roles. - Revenue History:
Must be able to demonstrate a historical track record of consistently achieving and exceeding
high-value revenue targets
from previous work history (minimum revenue figures are expected).
Skills & Education
- Skills:
Exceptional
leadership, communication, negotiation, delegation, problem-solving
, and
decision-making
abilities. Proficiency with relevant logistics software and strong general
computer skills
are essential. - Education:
A
Postgraduate degree
is preferred. However, candidates with exceptional and extensive relevant industry experience may have the degree requirement waived.
