Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Business Development Manager to lead and expand our freight forwarding sales operations in Chennai. The candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, developing key customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets in the shipping and logistics domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets for air, sea, and surface freight services.
  • Identify and acquire new clients in the logistics and freight forwarding sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present customized freight solutions based on client needs.
  • Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements with customers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with operations and documentation teams to ensure smooth shipment handling.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and updates to management.

Requirements:

  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA in Marketing / Logistics preferred).
  • 5–10 years of proven experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales.
  • Strong understanding of export/import operations, INCOTERMS, and customs regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
