Role Summary:

We are seeking to establish a long-term strategic partnership with a highly experienced and well-networked professional in India. This is not a standard employee role, but a high-level consultancy engagement.

As our Senior Strategic Representative for India, you will be our primary in-country partner, acting as our strategic extension. You will be responsible for providing deep, nuanced understanding of complex situations, mapping stakeholder influence, and facilitating high-level dialogue. Your work will directly inform the strategic decisions of our international clients. The ideal candidate is a master of human dynamics, a natural networker, and possesses unimpeachable ethical judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead in-country expert on the Indian socio-political, business and industry environment.
  • Conduct high-level stakeholder mapping and sentiment analysis to provide a clear picture of complex situations.
  • Leverage your network to ethically and professionally access information and facilitate strategic dialogue.
  • Build and maintain relationships based on trust and credibility with key individuals and communities.
  • Provide regular, insightful written and verbal briefings to our strategic team in Hong Kong.
  • Collaborate closely with our remote team to design and execute engagement strategies.

Desired Candidate Profile & Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience in a relevant senior-level role.
  • Background (must have one of the following):

Investigative or Political Journalism (Senior Editor / Bureau Chief level at a reputable national or international publication).

Public Affairs / Government Relations (Director-level or higher at a major consultancy or corporation).

Senior Civil Service (Retired).

Country Director or Senior Leadership at a respected international NGO or think tank.

Unimpeachable Integrity: A flawless professional record and a deep commitment to ethical conduct.

High Emotional Intelligence (EQ): The ability to build rapport and trust quickly, read complex social cues, and navigate sensitive conversations with tact and diplomacy.

Strategic Acumen: The ability to see the "big picture," understand underlying motivations, and provide insightful analysis, not just data.

Flawless Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory.
