A SAP Senior Basis Component Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the administration, configuration, and support of the SAP Basis system landscape within an organization. The role involves managing a team of SAP Basis professionals while ensuring the performance, stability, and security of SAP systems. The Senior Basis Lead will play a pivotal role in system installations, upgrades, patches, and ongoing support, as well as providing leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
A SAP Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing SAP solutions in a cloud environment. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and designing scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that leverage cloud technologies while ensuring optimal performance for SAP workloads. Below is a typical job description for a Cloud Architect specializing in SAP:
Key missions (2025 Objectives) :
- Establish a solid Technical Design Documentation on all SAP solutions and relevant elements (Platform model) around BC/Infra tasks with the support of John Cockerill System Team and Enterprise Application Team
- Define the action plan to create the relevant missing documentations, procedures in the spirit of the migration to RISE and S/4HANA
- Support the definition of the CAS model to support our BW4 in RISE and prepare the S/4 model
- Support the definition of the collaboration model based on Go For India approach inclusive the future of local AMS
- Collaboration with the John Cockerill System team to ensure proper coordination of the management of all SAP Systems (not forgetting security aspects) on-premises
- Support to the John Cockerill Group ERP Strategy including the move to RISE
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design: Design end-to-end SAP solutions to meet the organization's requirements while considering scalability, performance, and future growth.
System Architecture: Define the technical architecture for SAP platforms, ensuring integration with other enterprise systems and applications.
Cloud and On-Premises Integration: Guide the transition of SAP systems to cloud-based platforms (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Business Technology Platform) while ensuring hybrid integration models when necessary.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of SAP systems, recommending hardware, software, and networking improvements.
Security and Compliance: Ensure that the SAP platform complies with security standards, data privacy regulations, and industry best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, business analysts, and developers to ensure that the SAP platform meets business needs and technical requirements.
Technology Roadmap: Stay updated with emerging technologies related to SAP, like AI, machine learning, and automation, and incorporate them into the long-term platform strategy.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and guidance to SAP teams, solving complex issues related to the platform's architecture.
Skills and Expertise:
- 10-12 yearsof experience is required
- SAP Expertise: Deep knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BW, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba) and their integration with other business processes.
- Cloud Architecture: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and SAP cloud solutions.
- SAP BTP expertise: knowledge of SAP Cloud tools: Identity management, Build Workzone
- Integration: Expertise in SAP integration tools (e.g., SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI) and middleware platforms.
- Database Management: Understanding of databases used with SAP systems (e.g., SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server).
- IT Infrastructure: Knowledge of hardware, networking, and infrastructure components for hosting SAP solutions.
- Project Management: Experience in leading SAP implementation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Certifications (Optional):
- SAP Certified Technology Associate
- SAP Certified Application Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification
- TOGAF or other architecture frameworks
