Job Description
Designation: Deputy Manager – CS/Pricing
Function: Customer Service / Pricing
Line of Business (LOBs): SFE / SFI / AFE / AFI
Product: Ocean & Air (Export and Import)
Reporting to: Senior Manager
Location: Vashi, Navi Mumbai
Key Responsibilities
Pricing / Procurement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, consolidators, NVOCCs, and other key partners.
- Coordinate shipments efficiently across vendors including main line operators, NVOCCs, IATA agents, transporters, CFS operators, customers, and overseas agents.
- Conduct freight negotiations for standard, project, and special containers as well as with IATA agents.
- Monitor and update the RFQ (Request for Quotation) tracking sheet on a weekly basis.
- Ensure timely submission of rates/quotations to customers, enabling faster feedback and early negotiations with shipping lines and vendors.
- Assist clients in selecting suitable equipment and calculating container requirements based on packing lists, while providing relevant rate details.
- Proactively explore opportunities to maximize profitability across transactions.
- Compare rates across shipping lines and transporters, negotiating the best possible pricing to secure higher margins.
- Revisit accepted rates to negotiate further cost reductions and improve profitability.
- Work towards reducing overhead costs such as ocean freight and land-side expenses.
- Improve conversion ratio by securing competitive rates aligned with customer indications.
Customer Service
- Provide daily shipment status updates (DSR) to customers.
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to customers and overseas partners, guiding the team to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Manage key corporate accounts, local sales shipments, and agent-nominated shipments.
- Build and foster strong client and vendor relationships to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure timely invoicing to customers and overseas partners within agreed credit terms.
- Maintain proactive engagement with clients and prospects.
- Provide timely updates to internal offices, overseas partners, and branches.
- Offer guidance and support to colleagues and subordinates, ensuring efficient execution of tasks and cost optimization.
- Apply proactive and forecasting techniques to keep customers informed.
- Resolve open issues effectively and escalate proactively when needed.
- Communicate effectively across organizational levels.
IT Systems (CargoWise)
- Ensure accurate job updates in CargoWise.
- Maintain and update cost sheets for all jobs.
- Share "Operations Remarks" with accounts team for smooth job closures.
- Generate and present MIS reports to management as required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹450, ₹550,000.00 per year
