Role Overview:

The Group Head - Central Media Buying will lead and oversee the centralized media buying function within our Digital Trading & Investment Desk. This pivotal role is responsible for developing and executing strategic media buying strategies across programmatic and direct channels, ensuring optimal efficiency, transparency, and ROI for our diverse portfolio of agency clients. The Group Head will manage and foster strong relationships with media vendors and technology partners and drive continuous improvement in our buying practices to maintain a competitive edge in the dynamic digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and articulate a negotiation strategy for the central media buying function, aligning with overall digital investment goals and client objectives.

* Identify and evaluate emerging media buying trends, technologies, and opportunities to enhance the agency's capabilities and client performance.

* Contribute to the development of agency-wide digital media strategies and best practices.

* Identify training and development needs within the team and implement programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Media Buying Strategy & Execution:

* Oversee the development and implementation of sophisticated media buying strategies across various digital channels (Programmatic, Display, Video, Native, Audio, Social, etc.).

* Ensure efficient and effective negotiation with Media Vendors on Branding business, adhering to client budgets and KPI's metrices.

* Drive the adoption of best practices in programmatic trading, including audience targeting, bidding strategies, and optimization techniques.

* Manage and optimize direct media buys, negotiating favourable rates and terms with publishers and media owners.

Vendor Management & Negotiation:

* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media vendors, technology partners (DSPs, SSPs, DMPs), and data providers.

* Lead negotiations for media buys, ensuring competitive pricing, favourable terms, and access to premium inventory.

* Evaluate vendor performance and identify opportunities for strategic partnerships.

Data Analysis & Performance Optimization:

* Establish robust reporting frameworks and KPIs to monitor media buying performance and ROI.

* Lead the analysis of campaign data to identify trends, insights, and optimization opportunities.

* Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making within the media buying team.

* Collaborate with analytics teams to develop and implement advanced measurement and attribution models.

Compliance & Governance:

* Ensure all media buying activities adhere to industry regulations, data privacy laws, and agency policies.

* Maintain transparency in buying practices and provide clear reporting to internal teams and clients.

* Implement and enforce brand safety and ad fraud prevention measures.
