Reports To: National Product Head – Air & Ocean
Team Size: 4–5 Direct Reports | ~150 Overall
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced logistics professional to lead the Air & Ocean Freight operations for the Western Region. The incumbent will be responsible for driving the business's P&L, ensuring operational excellence, and leading a large cross-functional team to achieve sustainable growth across air exports, imports, and cross-trade lanes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage end-to-end Air & Ocean freight operations for the western region.
- Drive profitability and P&L performance, ensuring revenue and margin targets are achieved.
- Collaborate with sales, pricing, and global operations teams to deliver seamless customer solutions.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate regional teams to ensure high operational performance and service quality.
- Implement process improvements, digital tools, and cost-optimization strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Manage relationships with customers, carriers, and vendors to support business growth.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, ISO standards, and all statutory / trade compliance requirements.
- Provide data-driven insights through MIS reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 12–18 years of experience in freight forwarding / logistics, with proven exposure to Air & Ocean Freight.
- Prior experience in P&L management or leading a regional product vertical is essential.
- Strong understanding of international trade, customs compliance, and carrier negotiations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into business decisions.
- Graduate in any discipline (MBA / PG in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred).
